PLACES OF INTEREST SETTING THE SCENE Causeway Cottage lies to the west of the village of West Buckland, Somerset, close to the Somerset/Devon border, and equidistant from the north coast of Somerset/Devon and the coast of Devon/Dorset to the south - both coasts 20-25 minutes away. About 3 miles from Wellington, and 7 miles from Taunton, Causeway Cottage is easily reached, and is within one minute from Junction 26 on the M5 motorway. A good stopover on the way to or from Cornwall. Please note that Robert will gladly help plan day trips, as he has an extensive knowledge of the South West. Somerset and Devon, in the south west of England, have an equitable climate with warm summers and mild winters, and are situated in a beautiful part of Britain. Within easy reach by motorway, these counties, which lie at the gateway to the West Country, nevertheless have a quiet rural setting with attractive scenery and many beaches. Outdoors there are many country walks and Exmoor and Dartmoor are within easy reach. Many National Trust properties with beautiful buildings and fragrant gardens are found nearby. Cathedrals can be visited at Exeter and Wells.
