Just a quick note to say thank you for our stay recently. We felt completely at home, which is so important, and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a perfect interlude as one could have hoped anywhere. Joan is already working her way through your cookery books!

I knew it was a special place, when on my first visit, The Mailbox nailed to the fence had a notice pinned to it "No letters please-Birds nesting" The Orrs are a delightful ( and unobtrusive) family. All the rooms are delightfully decorated, simple and elegant. Wonderful breakfasts are served at a 10 foot long table and dinner is a treat not to be missed. Robert serves the aperitifs and is a charming host, while Lesley is a brilliant cook. There should be a fault somewhere but I have yet to find it.

We were made extremely welcome in the manner of being invited to share the family home. Apart from the superb food and accommodation generally, the availability of an evening meal in situ and a spacious pleasantly furnished sitting room are invaluable features. Indeed we were sorry to have to leave.

Both Stephen and I so loved your demo - and I thought you might like to know that you have completely inspired Stephen, who was a keen but reticent cook - since that day he has not stopped creating and has now got so much more confidence, he enjoys doing recipes from your books.
